arrow Fermo’s origins are pre-Roman; the town was founded by the Piceni (people descending from the Sabini) around the 10th century b.C.

It is also an important industrial pole and typical beach resort with 8 kilometres of beach. Its territory, from the vast medieval Marca, has become more and more narrow and now Fermo is capital of a small territory with 40 Communes and 110.000 inhabitants.
