At about 50 Km from the fermano beaches, driving through the valleys of the rivers Tenna and Aso you reach the Sibillini Mountains, part of the homonymous National Park, with tops overcoming 2000 metres of height such as the Vettore (m. 2478), the Priora (m. 2332), the Sibilla (m. 2175 - in the picture) with its top wrapped by a rocky step similar to a crown and a cave at 2150 m. where people think the Sibilla Appenninica (Apennine Sybil) lived in the past.

Really peculiar is the situation of the Pilato Lake. Placed at 1940 m. of height, set in a natural basin among the Sibillini Mountains and with a peculiar “glass shape” this lake is full of suggestive legends and in its waters there is a kind of shellfish unique in the world.
